Thanks. I hadn't checked in a few weeks. Now I can do my downloads the
weekend before Thanksgiving. I'm sure there will be some additional fixes
published before then.

However:

- Cumulative package C2279710 began shipping worldwide:
12 Oct 2012.

- Date cumulative PTF package instructions last updated:
12 Oct 2012.

- The next cumulative package is scheduled for 22 Mar 2013.

The next big thing many of us are waiting for is the new DB2 group ptf
(November 2012). Then the HTTP group (December 2012) to get a rewrite of
Systems Director.

Has IBM already released the latest cume? I thought it was coming out in
the middle of November.

Just a brief note. I installed TR5 this past Friday and didn't

has made this process much easier than it was back in the AS/400 days
for
which I am eternally grateful lol.

People are trying to assure others that loading on the latest cume, AND,
SF99707 and then IPLing will get you TR5. And these are pretty sharp
people.

I still wonder why the cover letter for MF99005 says you have to apply
all

existing MF* PTFs permanently though. MF99005 is a delayed PTF so if
had
the knowledge to automatically IPL the requisite times, why doesn't it
and

just drop this verbiage from the cover letter? Since it's not as if you
can apply MF99005 immediately (even if you had permanently applied the
other PTF's already).

And, yes, I've been putting on cumes for years now and I know IBM has
made

great strives in automatically IPLing during PTF installation. I still
bear scars from the early years, back on AS400's.

I've been following this topic with interest. We are planning to install
the V7R1 cumulative and other PTF's over Thanksgiving weekend. It
appears
now that I don't have to do anything special for TR5.

Thanks

TR5 is MF99005. Does that sound like a CUME package to you? No, it
isn't. Now, is TR5 (aka MF99005) on the latest cume package? Yes.

Did someone say that the TR5 includes the Cume package?
