That particular download was done with Download Director. I just downloaded a PTF image (675MB) direct to my i with FTP and got 1,086KB/sec. Just over 10 Minutes for a CD Image.

So Download Director is faster and if you use a tool like GoZilla it can accelerate that as well. But I use an FTP script and parallel many images at once each of which usually gets the same 1000KB/S.

But I really have pathetic download times from IBM. My uploads to ECUREP
are dead slow from my PC also. Left my laptop here the other night to
finish off a 1.5GB upload of performance data for the stupid disk
balancing issue I was having.
