We are a vendor of Tn5250e software.

We continue to support WinTronix IP Client which is the follow on product of the Synapse TN5250e display, printer, and file transfer software (Netwolf, WinAPPC) developed over the years by Joe Frank, Preston Sights, Jim Lowary, Doug Finch, and others.

We have upgraded the code to run on iSeries V7R1 and are backwards compatible to V4R5. We have also worked to make sure it runs on Windows 7.

Joe et al built the first 5250 emulator ever in the early 1980's. That invention morphed into Emerald Technology (twinax and SDLC), the Emulator Transfer Utility (ETU) and a string of other 5250 companies.

Synapse provided their code to Andrew, Nlynx, NetSoft (Elite), Attachmate (Rally!), DCA (Irma/400), Micro Integration 5250, Connectronnix, and Novell 5250, among others.

It is licensed by system so those with multiple systems/LPARs do not incur multiple charges.

Hi -

We're looking for a good, inexpensive 5250 emulator for our WIN7 PCs. We don't mind paying for a supported version, but would like the cost per seat to be reasonable.

What emulators are companies using? Can anyone recommend one that they have had experience using?

We have had some experience with the following:

Web to Host (Micro Focus)
IBM Client Access 5250 emulator
Mocha Soft
TN5250 (open source)

Thanks,
