And the latest version of Access 5250 runs just fine on 64-bit Windows 7

I believe that this is available online, right? Of course, you have to have the license on the i.

IIRC, the service packs are the full product - it used to be, anyhow. No other emulator has all the features of Access 5250 - I know, it's bloated and all that. But I make such extensive use of things like macros that it's worth it.

Actually we (I) use the actual PCOMM product - as a vendor we get it through an annual subscription. No user count issues. The product itself is maybe a couple hundred bucks, I think, to civilians.

I think at V5R4 and above ( might be V6 ) iSeries Access is included as
part of the base OS licenses. So that would be your most cost effective.
May not be your favorite client. Th V7R1 version officially supports back
to V5R4.

Hi -

We're looking for a good, inexpensive 5250 emulator for our WIN7 PCs. We
don't mind paying for a supported version, but would like the cost per seat
to be reasonable.

What emulators are companies using? Can anyone recommend one that they
have had experience using?

We have had some experience with the following:

Web to Host (Micro Focus)
IBM Client Access 5250 emulator
Mocha Soft
TN5250 (open source)

Thanks,
