I think iSeries Access has always been included with the OS. 5250 emulation
and Data Transfer, though, have always been (and, I think, still are)
separate charges.

I think at V5R4 and above ( might be V6 ) iSeries Access is included as part
of the base OS licenses. So that would be your most cost effective.
May not be your favorite client. Th V7R1 version officially supports back to
V5R4.

Hi -

We're looking for a good, inexpensive 5250 emulator for our WIN7 PCs.
We don't mind paying for a supported version, but would like the cost
per seat to be reasonable.

What emulators are companies using? Can anyone recommend one that they
have had experience using?

We have had some experience with the following:

Web to Host (Micro Focus)
IBM Client Access 5250 emulator
Mocha Soft
TN5250 (open source)

Thanks,
