Mine show in Excel as a Date data type.

Note that when there is a leading zero, I remove it entirely, so that
result is as shown in my original messsage: "6/07/2012". It is not
"06/07/2012" nor " 6/07/2012".

When Excel displays it, it is displayed as 06/07/2012 however.
