Hmmm, a valid question without doubt but since VIOS is all about being able to talk to MORE stuff than IBM i can talk to it doesn't make any sense that IBM would pull capability that quickly from VIOS. In addition requiring a newer level of VIOS just to host IBM i 'next' would put many customers in a position of requiring a VIOS upgrade before they could kick the tires on 'next'. Putting in such a roadblock to acceptance of 'next' doesn't seem wise or something IBM would be keen to do.

Since IBM ALWAYS respects my opinion on such things this pretty much guarantees, ahhhh, nuthin. :-)
