At 5PM CDT yesterday I noticed that TR4 was available on fix central.
Being excited I downloaded and installed on my test LPAR. Install went
smoothly...however after the LPAR came back up from IPL everything worked
fine...except telnet! An additional IPL fixed the issue (whew...) anyway
my "guesstimate" is that it required some PTFs currently on the system to
be perm applied (and some idiot...me) didn't think to perm apply prior to
all of this. So in a nutshell perm apply PTFs before loading TR4 (and if
it gives you the same problem then the 2nd IPL should get you back up and
running (I have no idea how I forgot to perm apply those PTFs
beforehand...maybe old age or exhaustion perhaps but that's a different
story). Today I will be putting it through it's paces to ensure nothing
else rears it's ugly head but I really don't expect any other issues other
than my own user error...hopefully I'll be able to get something setup so
I can try the Live Mobility but it may not be possible since all of my
other LPARs are production (well one is a clustered Notes LPAR so I might
be able to get permission to monkey around with it some since the TEST
LPAR doesn't contain anything related to the apps on the test LPAR).

Thanks,
Tommy Holden
