I don't know if you can run something besides PowerVM (VIOS) on the bare metal. My guess is that you could buy AIX for Power and run it directly on the blade but if you want to run multiple partitions you'd need something like PowerVM. I couldn't find any other bare metal hypervisors for Power (like ESXi).

If you are going to run i on a JS12 I think you *have* to have PowerVM (which I think is aka VIOS). I don't see a specific visualization OS except for PowerVM in my entitlements.
