Are the dates a date data type? Or a numeric/decimal data type?

Subject: Question on Excel to iSeries PF transfer - dates

Having some problems getting my dates to come across correctly on an
Excel
to iSeries transfer. Where the iSeries connector button has been
installed
on the EXCEL spreadsheet. i.e. There is a DLL that has to be moved to the
correct folder.

Anyway I am getting a number that appears to be something like the number
of
days from some point in time. Not getting iSeries dates.
