Not that I'm aware of.

The closest thing that the IFS has is the /tmp directory ... but that's not job specific.

How can this be handled so multiple jobs don't build in same IFS
area? Use job name? Or is there something like QTEMP for IFS?

I would suggest you use a directory, or file name, that's unique. The tmpfile() API can be used for that ... although I would suggest constructing something that's bound to the jobname, so it's easier to find problems.
