Re: Load source on old 9406-720

Well, it looks like it's time to send this thing back to the dump.
Before I could copy the failing load source to the new drive, it died.
Click,click,click - then it dumped main storage and I couldn't re-IPL.

I tried to resurrect the dead drive by reassigning sectors, like I had
done before, now I get stuck at SRC 27419052. There is cache data that
doesn't match what is in the drive. Yeah, that would be correct since
I attempted to fix the bad sectors. Apparently the first time I did
it, the data in the bad sectors hadn't changed. This time I wasn't so
lucky.

So, the journey ends. I don't have any more money to throw at this
stuff, old computers are just a hobby of mine anyway.

Does it really matter that much? Given how the system was obtained,
having been "'rescued' from the scrap metal place", are any of the
objects\data that are non-OS\non-LPP\non-3rdPartyApps something that a
new owner\possessor of the system really need be interested in; at least
ethically? That is, DLTLIB of pretty much all libraries that are not a
software product [or product data] library should not be an issue.? Of
course access to the OS, LPP, and 3rdPartySfw each may have their own
separate concerns, possibly legal and\or ethical.?
