<<SNIP>> I'm not sure exactly what steps they used.

During my tests last weekend, I ran STRSST but the password for
QSECOFR did not match what I had defined eons ago. And the SST
profile that I created for myself, in case QSECOFR went south, does
not exist anymore. In addition, the QSECOFR user profile (not the SST
one) has a different password.

Acknowledging that the BP might have changed all of this stuff after
the restore, wouldn't a restore have restored the original SST
passwords, and the password for the QSECOFR password?

I'm just trying to learn a little more here about restores from a
Save 21 because I can fix the problems.

I was thinking ever since you had originally posted this message, about a recollection that there was at one time some "new support" on a release for the SAVSYS to effect save of, to include, the Dedicated Service Tools (DST) User Profiles [and DST Security Data]. However I had a difficult time finding anything... until some more searches today after seeing more followup messages in the thread.

While google search on the first of the following two lines of search tokens yielded a title line "Save and restore service tools security data" as a link into the specified release documentation on InfoCenter, the next line of search did not:
savsys "service tools security data" v5r2
savsys "service tools security data" v5r1

I believe that on v5r1 there is only the option to, from within the "Work with DST Environment", choose the option 6=Service tools security data from which save and restore options are available. Upon the DR install and restore activity performed for that Disaster Recovery scenario, there was [and presumably still is] the ability to use the option "4. Restore service tools security data" from the "Work with Service Tools Security Data" panel, from wherever a prior option "5. Save service tools security data" had been performed\saved.
