Both LPARs have ethernet ops console?
Is the ops console connection started on the pc?
can you enter DST? is the console type correctly set? the lan adapter settings?

Best regards,

It's a 9406-820 with two LPARs; the console is connected via Ethernet.  Only the primary LPAR has this problem.

When I IPL my system I get SRC A9002000 (cannot find console).

The system does come up and I can telnet into it. I find the problem is that neither the console device nor the controller
above it are online at IPL (they are both varied off).  Once I vary them on the console appears and the SRC goes away.

When I tried to change the controller and device to ONLINE(*YES) (either before I varied it on, or later on)
neither one allows this parameter to be changed.

Why would changing ONLINE(*YES) be locked out?

This is a V5R2 system using Ops Console.
