Changing domain name

Esteemed peers,

Currently our internal domain is dekko-1
On CFGTCP we show
Host name . . . . . . . . . . . 'GDIHQ'
Domain name . . . . . . . . . . 'dekko-1'

The dash is allowable via the standards. However we are running into
things that say stuff the standards we don't like no stinking dashes. Our
latest incident involves firing up the WAS based portions of Sametime. We
already have two domains in our dns: dekko.com and dekko-1. I can put
the same address into both domains and ping by either domain works fine.
It does tend to get our network consultant sputtering obscenities when I
use the .com one for internal addresses.

Just how dangerous is it to change that domain name for the lpar itself to
dekko.com? What stuff must I fix? What other ramifications are there?
Does Mimix care? Does WRKRDBDIRE care? Does any client/server stuff
care? Just a few things that come to mind...
