hi Chris,

If you like, my RPG definitions for the GSKit APIs are here:
http://www.scottklement.com/rpg/copybooks/gskssl_h.rpgle.txt

I also have RPG definitions for the older, deprecated, SSL APIs at the following link:
http://www.scottklement.com/rpg/copybooks/ssl_h.rpgle.txt

Back when I started HTTPAPI (in the V4R5 timeframe) an IBMer told me that the SSL APIs were being phased out, and that I should use the newer GSKit APIs (which were brand new at that time.) So I only used the SSL APIs once, and then used GSKit from that point on. GSKit is available via PTF in V4R5 and is included with the OS in all V5R1 and higher releases.

I wrote an article titled "SSL Sockets from RPG? Of Course you Can!" that was published in the September 2006 issue of System iNEWS. The article contains a discussion, as well as an RPG example of SSL programming with the GSKit API.

If you have a ProVIP subscription with System iNetwork, you can read the article online, here:

Don't worry, it'll work without setting your cache batteries to failed state :-)

I am starting to write my first SSL server. The steps seem easy, as
in about the same as non SSL IP.

I am trying to see if IBM supplies the Headers for RPGLE with V6R1 or
if I need to use someone's translations such as Scott's SockTut
library?

Then do I use the GSK or standard SSL? Is the GSK being phased out
or is my memory failing and that is the way to go?

Can someone please steer me in the correct direction.
