And, those were getting to the point that IBM wanted you to run it as an
administrator.  I started rolling on the floor crying and screaming
because how the blazes are users supposed to use "Check Service Level" if
the darn thing is not going to install right?  And we're not just talking
Win 7 here.

Yep, that sure does take the wind out of applying updates. I am not going to remote or walk around to a couple hundred PCs to install an update. If we remember, we usually turn off "Check service level". Just avoid the whole problem.

In the past, there seemed to be a user level "run once" that needed to be done as well. So, we would have to do the administrative login to get the run once to work before we let users start any programs. I don't think that is true anymore. A simple restart now seems to work.

I wonder if our patch manager could run Check service level. That would be convenient. Have to get with PC/Network guy and see if that will work.
