You are copying file B into fileB instead of fileA into fileB.
Assumed the additional column is the first one and all other columns are in
the same sequence with the same names and compatible data types, the
following SQL statement should work:

Insert into FileB
Select 'MyConstant', FileA.*
From FileA;;

Hi all,

Having trouble with the syntax of a simple insert.

I want to copy fileA to fileB after fileB has been modified so the first
field is a new field. I want to put the same value into each row of the new
field.

Something like :

Insert into fileB
Select 'Constant', fileB.* from fileB

Can someone put me right?
