I believe I found a PTF to fix this in the past but cannot find
anything using google. Thought maybe someone would remember this.

I am executing a CPYSPLF command with ALL pertinent parms (file, job
name, user, job nbr and spl number)

CPYSPLF FILE(FR101AP) TOFILE(QTEMP/AROUT) JOB(518480/CINDY/PRP300)
SPLNBR(000072) MBROPT(*ADD) CTLCHAR(*FCFC)

I get CPF3340 "More than one file with specified name found in job
&5/&4/&3."

I did not think (and still do not think) there can be two spooled
files on a system with the same prtf name, job name, user id, job nbr
and spool number.

I am running this on V6R1

Job numbers "roll over", so indeed there can be one or more duplicate
JOB(jobnbr/usrname/jobname), and therefore even a duplicate of the same SPLF
name and SPLFNBR for a duplicate job name. While I have little experience
in doing so, I believe spool files having been restored can create similar
duplicates. The additional parameters JOBSYSNAME and\or CRTDATE on the
CPYSPLF command can further clarify which spool file to copy.

What happens when the following command is invoked from a command-line
interface [e.g. QCMD]?:

WRKJOB JOB(518480/CINDY/PRP300) OUTPUT(*) OPTION(*SPLF)
DUPJOBOPT(*SELECT)

If more than one job appears in a list from which a job can be selected
[the "Select Job" panel], then there are at least two jobs named the same.

If the error msgCPF3340 occurs when there are either not two [or more]
jobs in that Select Job list, or there is not also a spool file named
FR101AP with spool file number 72 in both [or at least any two] of those
jobs, then I believe there is likely something wrong with the job\spool
"control blocks" or the spool file indexes.
