Set it all up with IP over your Ethernet. Do a GO SERVICE, and take option 18.

After that, I would test it with a SNDSRVRQS (*TEST).

Then a CFGPMAGT and make sure you have it set to 1 (Send data with Service Agent) on the screen after the license.

Subject: Systems Communications Question

Hi Folks,

We upgraded to a Power 7 8202 (model E4B) last year and I just realized no phone line ever got connected to the RS-232 port. Since then we've moved to VOIP and a bunch of phone lines got dropped.

So I was wondering and thought I'd heard that IBM stuff that used a modem could do it via IP now.

Case in point Q1PLIN (Performance Monitor). I try to vary that on and it fails with Resource "blank" is already in use.

What do I do?

Thanks!

Chuck
