Thanks for the clarification.
I have worked with the IFS in the past, but only in getting data from files.
I will be using the CPYTOSTMF command to move my file to the IFS.

If the data is already exported pipe-delimited into a "flat file"
[into either PF-SRC or a program-described PF-DATA] then the CPYTOSTMF
should be used instead of CPYTOIMPF to place the data in a file of "the
IFS". The purpose of CPYTOIMPF is to effect an
export-database-data-to-text, not the much more simplistic effect of
copy-text-to-text which is provided by the CPYTOSTMF.
