It isn't over and the blackouts throughout the internet are still taking
place tomorrow. Yes, it was shelved and will be rewritten, but the momentum
is still being built against both bills. This can't be allowed to fizzle
out now. There is hope that these senators will come to the tech community
for a better bill.

I still want to see the numbers that show that piracy is killing the
entertainment industry. Of the numbers they report:

* What percent would never buy the content anyway?
* What percent they go and buy the content?
* What percent are just trying to catch a show that the forgot to record
and can't watch any other way (see below)?
* What percent are trying to watch shows they can't legally view any other
way (via NetFlix, Hulu, or network website)?

And these are just a few of the numbers that AREN'T being published. Is
there such loss there that it warrants such extreme measures?

Also... how is that spam blacklist working for ya....

Subject: *** ADMIN: SOPA / PIPA Blackout January 18th

Folks:

Just a word of warning ... on January 18th, between the hours of 8am and
8pm, the midrange.com mailing list archives will be observing a
temporary blackout.

Don't worry, the archives won't be totally unavailable ... but the first
time you visit the archives that day you will be presented with a screen
demonstrating what could happen to midrange.com if SOPA or PIPA is
passed.
