Ah, I was taught the minimum charge technique a couple of decades ago by a
consultant friend. Like you, he said that, if he didn't, some of them would
nickel-and-dime him to death. I was with him in his office one weekend when
he got a call, answered it in about five minutes, and, after hanging up,
told me, "That just cost 'em $500 - but I'm not complaining."

Lazy bones used to work for one of my customers years ago on S/36. He'd
call: "I have message RPG1234 options 1 and 3, which do I take?" These
were the first words from his mouth, not so much as a hint to what he
was doing or if it was even his job! I was his 'reference manual' and
when we started charging them a minimum charge per call he got a LOT
better at knowing when to call and when to refer to the notes we had
left for him. :-)

In this case, somebody sophisticated enough to be updating QuestView from
a V4-compatible 6.0 to a V6-compatible 6.1, so I would hope he/she is more
than a run-of-the-mill user.
