Which is the STDOUT provider? When I run Tomcat the submitted startup job that contains the QSH command is the STDOUT provider with a QPRINT print file. The JVM job writes log entries here. That job stays active but the only thing it does is hold QPRINT. One could push STDOUT somewhere else, by piping it to an IFS file, for instance.

I like using QPRINT in i shops as it provides a familiar interface for viewing the log.

Subject: Strangeness with Tomcat 7, vs. Tomcat 6

After some futzing around, we got Tomcat up and running on our V6 box.
It seems to work fine,

EXCEPT:

Strange thing: With Tomcat 6, when I start Tomcat, the "CATALINA" job brings up the server, then ends, leaving the server active.

But with Tomcat 7, when I start it, the "CATALINA" job remains active, and if I abend it, it takes the server with it.

Is this normal? Is there some setting that needs to change? Something in one of the scripts? Something in the CL program that initiates the whole process?

I'm asking the same question a few other places.
