Thanks.

I did want to stay away from NEPs.

I did just find a post from Scott Klement here
http://www.systeminetwork.com/article/databasesql/how-to-monitor-for-new-fil
es-in-the-ifs-7129
Regarding FTP and quote rcmd to submit a job once the upload is executed.
I will probably go with this option, but I am open to other suggestions.

Paul

Subject: Re: Automated upload - how to initiate.

Initiating a data queue or populating a data area come to mind. Have a NEP
running, looking for DQ or DA changes and process accordingly.
Also, copy / FTP to a folder on the system and have a program looking for
new files.

Thanks,
Loyd

I am looking for a way to know when a file is ready to be uploaded to
the iSeries. What is a good way to signal to the iSeries that a file
is set to be uploaded from the IFS?

We have an Excel file that has a macro that extracts data to a .CSV file.
When the .csv file has been extracted I would like to kick off an
iSeries process to upload the file.

Thanks in advance.
