Actually, we *do* have something analogous to a calendar built in to the application.

The problem is that *customers* want integration with Google Calendar.

Among other things, they want, when "scheduling an activity" for a user, to be able to automatically check that user's Google Calendar for conflicts.

At this point, incidentally, I've successfully accessed a calendar via HTTPAPI, and am in the process of parsing the JSON data stream returned. But I'm only doing it with a test calendar I've created, and only using "Magic Cookie" authentication. This part is proving, so far, to be "almost too easy."
