We formerly used CPYLIB, but that changed the last used date of all the objects. Not so important for data files, but we use the same generalized program to copy some program libraries (and I kind of like to know if a program might be obsolete, just in case I ever get a chance to clean up...)

Don't have SAVRSTOBJ on the system.

My last on this for now: I did an emperical study. Given a library LIB1 that contained journal object JOURNAL1, and several files associated with that journal. CPYLIB FROMLIB(LIB1) TOLIB(LIB2) CRTLIB(*YES) was executed. At completion of the CPYLIB, the files in LIB2 were not journaled to any journal.

Have you considered CPYLIB as an alternate strategy? Or how about SAVRSTOBJ, which, if I recall correctly, shares the same "limitation?"

Caveat: This was at V5R3 and was a simple test.
