John, about 10 years ago I wrote an interface in Java using JDBC to
populate the iSeries with data from a Clipper database. IIRC Dbase and
Clipper files are the same.

This may meet you needs.

Is it possible to upload dbase files directly to the i without

The option does not exist in the iSeries Access choices.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I am receiving a set of data from a client in .dbf format each month and
would like to minimize the conversions if possible.
