We may be able to help - it might be something simple - if you describe the
issues you have with PASE and QSHELL. Personally, I couldn't get through a
day on the i without those by my side.

It looks like our Pase environment is also screwed up (something wasn't
done correctly on the 6.1 install it seems.) I tried the zip/unzip
utility from easy400.com and that would not work either.

And I was running out of time, you I went with what I knew.

hi Sam,

Please consider using InfoZip (the zip/unzip utilities typically found
on Unix/Linux/AIX machines) or 7-Zip. These utilities work great on IBM
i, and support most (if not all) of the Zip capabilities. (But, 7-zip
can be a challenge to install and get working.)

JAR runs really slow in my experience, and only supports a subset of
Zip's capabilities. I've had a lot of trouble with JAR, and can't
recommend it. (I must be an idiot, because every time this question
comes up -- and it comes up frequently -- tons of people recommend JAR.
And I hate it.)
