It is weird that the VPN client would die though even without CA/400 keepalive. Maybe the Sonicwall client also has a timeout config.

I've used a Sonicwall client before but have had similar disconnect issues with it.

We typically use the MS VPN or Watchguard VPN these days.

In a pinch, set up logmein on your work PC and access it without the VPN client. Works well for me as a backup plan.

I don't use Sonicwall but I usually set the "Keepalive" flag on the
client 5250 application so that something is transmitted regularly to
keep the VPN going. Maybe you just need to set a keepalive value on
whatever 5250 client you use to keep your 5250 session "alive"
