Basic Question: When you burned the CD, did you put it in a .iso
container / .iso CD format ? That is usually required for anything you
want read on AS400 CD drives. That is what I usually do to load stuff I
download from my vendors.

There are free .iso burner software apps at http://www.tucows.com
http://www.tucows.com/search.html?search_scope=win&tree_id=&cost=&tag=&search_terms=iso+burner&search_type=soft

I think I used Active@ or ISO burner . . . . .

I have the last CUME for V5R1 (please, hold down the laughter, some of us
are trying to sleep) on my PC. Our optical drive is a type 6321 on a Model
250. I used CD-R media to copy the disc images to CD. Either I did the
dupe disc wrong (always a possibility) or CD-R is not a compatible media
type. Anyway, the CPYPTFCVR command comes back saying that "No PTFs on
device OPT01 met the selection criteria." Even when I use SELECT(*ALL).
Now
that isn't reasonable so there is a problem.

If it is the media type, what is the correct media type, and where would I
get it? Staples, Office Depot, and Office Max only carry CD-RW and CD-R.
If I fubared it, I'll try again.

Excellent idea on the think400 website. It points to IBM document
15451115. Can make a big difference.

Pete,

(WAG)
The objects created by the SNADS File Server Objects are stored (IIRC) in
QUSRSYS. Check out that lib. Also, check the storage allocated to the
QSNADS
user profile.

Also (another WAG), in the think400.dk site there is a small code for
dealing with SNADS mail distributions. Check out:
http://www.think400.dk/adhoc_3.htm

and search for "Cleanup SNADS Mail Distributions".

Besides, you just upgraded them to 7.1. Now you have support - call IBM
if that doesn't work.

See "Resave" at
http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/i/planning/resave/index.html
That site doesn't go back to V5R2.

Jim's wrong (I feel so bad calling him out) but they still use RE* ptf's
today.

When I do a DSPPTF for one of my systems the first page (for 5722999)
shows these numbers I don't recognize:

Display PTF Status
Product ID . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 5722999
IPL source . . . . . . . . . . . . . : ##MACH#B
Release of base option . . . . . . . : V5R2M0 L00

RE04195 Permanently applied None
RE04112 Permanently applied None
RE04089 Superseded None
RE03212 Permanently applied None
RE03194 Permanently applied None
RE03098 Permanently applied None
RE02343 Permanently applied None
RE02310 Permanently applied None

The other LPAR looks like I expect:

Product ID . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 5722999
IPL source . . . . . . . . . . . . . : ##MACH#B
Release of base option . . . . . . . : V5R2M0 L00

TL05123 Permanently applied None

TL04077 Superseded None
TL03364 Superseded None
TL03252 Superseded None
TL03161 Superseded None
TL03077 Superseded None

I have never seen PTF numbers like this. A Google search comes up empty.

Tommy,
I can get to it. Can you get to archives?

For about a week I couldn't get to either the wiki or archives. Turned out to be some sort of DNS issue, that I don't claim to understand.
