IBM won't announce numbers, but from my observations, the i

(referring to the OS and family here) footprint is fading, and has been for
many, many years.

"We've had three quarters of growth in IBM i, and that's in both revenue and in footprints"
Steve Will, IBM.

(How many here have been involved in the migration *to* the i platform?
Personally, I've never heard of even one....)  And that's a shame; I hope
my observation is incorrect.

We're developing an IBM i product for K-12 schools. We're interested in serving students, parents, teachers, and administrators. We converted 1 school to our package this year, and will likely have 1 more by the end of the year. I think the product will reach a point of critical mass as at some point next year, in terms of functionality, and we hope to convert a lot more.

My current job is to eliminate three more System i units from the face
of the earth, and one more significant company irrevocably off of the i
platform.

Would you be willing to elaborate? What applications are you migrating to another platform? And what's driving it?
