I use a CL that is submitted to a queue specifically for nite processing.
That CL drops subsystems, runs backups, reports and file cleanups, submits
other jobs that need to be run and brings the subsystems back up when done.

The initial job is submitted by the iSeries as a job schedule entry. All we
need to do is make sure the backup tape is inserted before the end of the
day.

Thanks

We're beginning to implement, to the extent possible, an automated
environment to reduce the need for overnight operators. One issue
that's come up is how to handle overnight application changes.
Currently operators move Aldon deployment jobs from an inactive job
queue to an active job queue and when that job finishes they move the
"clean up" job to an active job queue. How does anyone else running a
lights out operation handle this process? Thanks.
