Is there an arbitrator too?

Of all the programmers I've worked with there are probably 2 that I would really enjoy being one of the pair. The majority of the rest were more rooster-oriented, they ruled. For the most part anything coded would be redone to their style and preference one way or the other. Just like any quality-concept approach, if there's no buy in commitment from management it would make for a difficult work environment.

But this does sound like something that would be great with development, programming and SOA, breaking up the tasks into procedures or researching the existing procedures for plugging things together as a team? Sounds great! That would accomplish the same sort of familiarity that seems to be its goal and in a much more productive manner. I would very much enjoy an environment like that! There has been only one place I've worked that had that type of working relationship inter and intra department...with teams and sub-teams that really worked towards scoping and focusing on a goal. It was great!

How would you rate the quality of the "team" environment that you work in now 1-10 with 10 being your ideal?

But have you tried it? The few times I've done it, it was an interesting
experience that seemed really productive. As long as you can keep on
track.
