I think we have it set to 8+0 simply because we believe that is the most
we will ever load at once.
We load tapes on Monday for the week. Even with this week being 4th of
July we loaded 8 last Monday and that carried us through the holiday.

Mike,

Had Auto Load set to Disable for some reason but changed that.

Why is yours set to Number of act slots 8+0 and not 9+0?

Trying it again with the settings changed to reflect your setup thanks
again!

And I was getting ready to call IBM. I do not know WHY in the world it
wouldn't just read down Tier 1 like it does when only 5 tapes are in
those slots and then move up to Tier 2. And that crazy grabbing the Tier
2 Column 2 tape while skipping the correct one seems really strange...

Thanks!

Chuck

Chuck
Just to see if you have things set the way we do.
Library mode = Sequential
Loop = Disable
Auto Load = Enable
Number of act slots 8+0

If yours matches, then maybe call IBM. They were very helpful when we
had issues.

Mike
