Marc

Thanks for the clarification - I've always used AnyNet to get the APPC connection.

This still is a method that can't be relied upon when dealing with your own product on a customer's system, I believe. That is why I proposed the TCP/IP solution using FTP.

I was going to suggest SAVRST* commands, as well. They are part of
an OS feature called ObjectConnect - it has to be installed, but
it is free. It does use the AnyNet capability, and that is still
around, I believe. There's another network thing that has to be
installed in recent releases, in order to get AnyNet to work.
These are the downsides to it.

To be precise, SAVRST* commands do not use AnyNet capability, but they
require an APPC connection between both systems.
Up to V5R4 (V6R1 maybe but not sure), this APPC connection can make use
of AnyNet.
Starting at V5R4, this APPC connection can make use of
EnterpriseExtender (or HPR/IP).

AnyNet is no longer supported.
EnterpriseExtender is supported and is the good choice for running APPC
applications over IP.

Of course, a pure APPC connection can still work but, there are no
modern LAN IOA which support SNA protocol.
