Hi Pete,
what you are looking for can be viewed here:
ftp://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/SG246321

Or, there is a similar application which converts the messages in traps:
http://www.common.at/Net.Data/webcontent/common/index.html/START?WEB=COMMON&PAG=DOWNLOADS&RUB=NEW
(also with sources)

Regards
peter

Subject: Message queue monitoring code

Maybe it is because I have spent the last 5 days in Minneapolis immersed in tech at Common but I can't remember the name of a free, open source application that ran as a NEP in batch monitoring for messages in qsysopr and sending an email when a message met the monitoring criteria. I came across it at the last consulting gig I had but I no longer have access to the box to look at the program. I think it was quite "old", maybe even from the late 90's.

I remember finding references on the Internet to the program but I think specifically Googled on the author's name or the library or program name when I was doing the consulting work. Does that ring a bell for anyone?

Thanks.
