You have a 2844 which is indeed an IOP.

Subject: Is my tape drive attached via IOP?

All,

One more upgrade-to-V7R1-question (though I reserve the right to ask more
later . . .)

The MTU talks about tape library devices getting a new resource name when
V7R1 is installed *IF* that tape library device is attached via an IOPLess
adapter.

Not being a big hardware guy, I wasn't sure. I have a Power 5 520.

My keen eye detected the following in WRKHDWRSC:

CMB06 2844-001 Operational Combined function IOP
DC04 5702-001 Operational Storage Controller
TAPMLB01 3581-028 Operational Tape Library

The magic character string "IOP" in there is a dead giveaway, isn't it?

Thanks.
