You need "the network guys" involved. It's unlikely you are using public IP addresses on your devices, so there is typically a firewall involved and some way for the firewalls at each end to connect, such as LAN-2-LAN VPN. Comcast Business Cable may provide services like that; I don't know (they don't on any of our connections with them).

That said, you can set the MTU on the System i TCP/IP interface. Ours is set to 1320 because of similar printer problems when we changed VPN devices 4 years ago.

MPLS provides a private network where you can route your internal IP space. VPN devices offer the same ability. With MPLS, you don't care where the traffic goes in between because it's the provider's problem.

FWiW, our CHGTCPA TCPKEEPALV is set to 2, but I don't remember if it was due to the printer issue or something with Vision OMS/ODS.

You didn't mention *how* the branches are connected, but if you switched from MPLS to VPN, you may need to lower the MTU to account for the encryption overhead.
