Had another developer ask me if you needed to check SQLCODE/SQLSTATE
after a commit statement.

Told him it was a good question, I've never thought about it.

But while I've never checked SQLCODE/SQLSTATE after a commit (or
rollback) I could see where it might be possible for the operation to
fail particularly if a distributed transaction is involved.

I couldn't find anything in the docs, so thought I'd throw the
question out here...

Does anybody know ( and/or have a link to a documented recommendation)
to check for success/failure of an SQL commit/rollback?
