I hope they don't use it. I know Java dev's that use JPA love to use ID for
the primary key. As Pete says too, Rails uses it too. I can only hope it
goes away. I've started naming any new ID fields I create differently.

ID seems to be a pretty common column name for SQL based applications,
particularly on other DB's. Which means IBM's reservation of ID on
DB2 for i is going to cause nightmares for porting/ported apps.
