Beats the heck out of me, I know it's the web query product that
we'll never use but I was told that IBM required purchasing the SWMA

even totally bogus) but it is what it is...

What is it actually a requirement for ?

Are you migrating from v5r4? If so then you might actually be

The "subject:" concern apparently was already answered, but in regard to the quoted text above...

A "requirement" only in order to keep or obtain [SWMA for or just the LPP] QU1 perhaps.? I recall suggesting that having made the QU1 become an option of QU2 instead of remaining its own separate product would have made ordering and licensing clearer for the purchaser...

So IIRC, I made that recommendation because the SWMA for QU2 was a requirement to keep or obtain QU1 as a licensed program product with support; that there was not previously [since for most package deals, the SWMA for QU1 was packaged as part of the SWMA for SS1] or would no longer be a separate SWMA for the QU1 LPP.? So I think unless QU1 is dropped or QU2 is excluded for an upgrade, the QU2 "replaces" the QU1 by delivering both QU1 and QU2, but the SWMA for QU1 is available only available by SWMA purchase for QU2. That does allow deleting or never installing QU2, while keeping just the QU1 with sfw maintenance.

Been a long time, so my recollection is hazy :-)
