We have 1.6 running on V5R4. I think 1.5 is the highest you can go on V5R3.

subject: Re: Java JRE 6 on IBM i: How to install

I believe that you need to be at minimum O/S level of IBM i 6.1 to load JRE 1.6.

When you install the O/S upgrade the JRE 1.6 will be available for you to select in GO LICPGM option 11 (Installed licensed programs)

i5/OS V5R3 max Java level is 1.4.x
i5/OS V5R4 max Java level is 1.5.x

Hi,

I need jre 1.6 on my V5R3 box to run my application.
But only jre 1.4 is installed - when I type 'java -version' in PASE, I see java 1.4.2 .
What are the steps to upgrade to jre 1.6 ?
If I need higher OS 400 version, what is the minimal version?

Zvi
