I'm not sure what you mean about "round robin" but the system will have to mount each tape and read the header to determine the tape inventory. Usually once the inventory is done the database on the tape library will keep track of what tape is where, until you do anything that will cause a re-inventory. That can be any one of a number of things. Suffice it to say the inventory process will take /a really long time/!!

It's cheaper and faster to get the bar codes on the tape. You can get them over night from CDW and a couple of other vendors. I suggest you call CDW rather than try to order them from the website.

BTW: Check to be sure there is a bar code reader on the tape library first. Often times that is a optional feature as is the RMU (Remote Management Unit)
