I guess my question is why bother. If you have your system set for automatic
device creates go through and attempt to vary off the device. If you
succeed, delete the device. When the user signs on, the device will be
recreated. Are you talking QPAD* devices?

Roger,

That is exactly what I'm trying to do.
But I will have a few thousand devices to track.
To large to do manually.

Thanks,
Rogers

You could DSPOBJD *ALL *DEVD to an outfile. However, a vary on/off is
considered usage so it's not really accurate.

Are you trying to clean up unused device descriptions? If so, I've done
this by comparing devd names against the job name in the CPF1124 and/or
CPF1164 messages in the history log by date. That way, you can weed out
devices not used in the past NN days. Of course, you have to keep
enough days of QHST or an extract of just those messages for the time
period you want to compare against.

Would I be able to run a SQL query to show all the last activity date?

If so what table would they be located?

Thanks
