Make sure all of your PCs running client access are on current releases
(or better yet upgrade them prior to the OS upgrade). I had no problems
when I moved to v6.1 but after the move to v7.1 we started having some
ODBC errors, etc. crop up...but of course they never upgrade these PCs and
some were still running PComm v5.4 (which I think was around v5r1 or so
when it came out)

Thanks,
Tommy Holden

We are currently on V5R4, and I am contemplating ordering the 7.1 upgrade
next month for possible installation next year. I know a release (6.1 in
this case) can be skipped, and that I need to read both releases "Memo to
Users". I have already run the ANZOBJCVN command, and everything looks
kosher. I have downloaded the "Installing, updating or deleting IBM i"
manual (SC41-5120-11) manual.

Just wondered if:

a) There were any other preliminary documents, manuals, or such that
I forgot before I started planning the upgrade, and

b) Anyone out there had the 7.1 install skipping 6.1 and had any
experiences from which I could learn?

Thanks.
