A printer device is set up with PRTERRMSG(*INFO). Message CPI404f Problem with device ... was sent to QSYSOPR.

The printer displayed no error message. It was turned off and on at least twice. Nothing else was ent to QSYSOPR. And, nothing printed wither. The writer was in MSGW status. No spool files were in any status other than RDY. Writer would not end controlled, but did end with *IMMED specified.

Is there some other way to get the writer to resume beyond ending and restarting? This seems to work very nicely when a paper out condition is hit. But, not this time.
