What release? Starting in V5R4 (I think) IBM introduced proxy commands.
FTP's true command is in QTCP with a proxy command in QSYS. Don't copy the
FTP command object from QTCP to QSYS. The same is true for QSH (QSHELL/QSH)
and CPYTOPCD (QIWS/CPYTOPCD).

Have you tried reinstalling the LPP for each product (such as 5722TC1 for
V5R4)?

commands were missing from QSYS, for example the FTP, QSH, CPYTOPCD. We had
to duplicate them from there product libraries into QSYS. Does anyone know
why this need to be done.
