A system reports its system name, both on the DSPNETA screen and

But for some reason, the user tells us it's "ASPQ123TST" That,
of course, raised a red flag with me, since it's 10 characters,
over the limit; that's why I had them send us a DSPNETA on the
box.

Can anybody think of a reason why the user would think the
system name was different from what the system itself reported?

RDB name? Do they have an independent ASP [iASP] with that name? Such an ASP, because that is a separate DB2 on the same physical system, appears much like a LPAR such that access to the other databases by a user may appear much like access to a separate logical partition or system. Output from WRKDEVD *ASP, WRKACTJOB JOB(*SYS), and WRKRDBDIRE would show indications of separate iASP from *SYSBAS.
