There are several messages with in the archives on this. I suggest you
search on SFTP. Be aware that you cannot log on to most remote SFTP
servers via a 5250 session. Most SFTP servers just do not understand
the 5250 data stream. However work a rounds are documented in the
archives.

For the port, you will be connecting to port 22 on the remote system.

Subject: Using sftp on the iSeries

I need to use sftp on the Iseries to connect to a remoter server.

I have installed the necessary software to use PASE so I can run
QP2Shell and QP2Term.

I have a user ID and password on the remote system.

What are the steps required to get sftp working. I understand that I
may need to download a key but it's not clear on how that is done.

If someone can list the steps needed I would be appreciative.

Also, what port does sftp use?
